K462 – 3K Center – Borough Park, Brooklyn, NYC

This project involved the interior fit‑out of a 30,000 sq ft existing space to create the K462 – 3K Center in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Litehouse Builders transformed the empty shell into a vibrant early‑childhood education facility. Delivered for the NYC School Construction Authority (SCA), the project established a brand‑new 3K center designed to provide a safe, engaging, and comfortable environment for young learners.

The interior fit‑out included the construction of 13 new classrooms, each equipped with its own private bathroom and water‑bottle filler to ensure comfort and convenience for students. To support active play, two dedicated exercise rooms were built, complete with wall padding to enhance student safety.

A warming pantry was incorporated to support hot lunch service for students. Each classroom received a new air‑handling unit (AHU), providing year‑round heating and cooling, while two new rooftop units (RTUs) were installed to ensure proper circulation of fresh air throughout the facility.

To meet the increased electrical demand of the new equipment, a new electrical switchgear room was constructed as part of an upgraded electrical service. A new Building Management System (BMS) was also implemented to optimize control of the HVAC systems and other building equipment.

Additionally, a new fire‑alarm system and sprinkler system were installed to meet the highest safety standards and ensure full compliance with SCA and NYC code requirements.

With these comprehensive upgrades, the K462 – 3K Center now offers a modern, fully functional educational environment that supports early childhood development and provides a safe, enriching space for both students and staff.
